Quick start PPTP/L2TP

If you want to automatically login and close a program when VPN connection crash, and open the same program once VPNCheck Pro connects to it then here's how to do it.

1. Press Config, then PPTP/L2TP.

2. At login fields enter your username, password and name of VPN adapter which was chosen during setup of VPN. If using Windows 7 you can find VPN adapter name by going to Control Panel/Network and Internet/Network and Sharing center/Change adapter settings.

3. Press Add file to add a program, and press the Autorun box.

4. Close config window and press Cycle IP:Task.

 Now you should be set and more secure!

 


Quick start OpenVPN

If you want to automatically login and close a program when VPN connection crash, and open the same program once VPNCheck Pro connects to it then here's how to do it.
Download the OpenVPN community package from openvpn.net. Then find the openvpn config files from your VPN provider. VPNGate is a reliable free OpenVPN provider which offers support for the community package and have servers around the world.

1. Press Config, then OpenVPN.

2. Type your username, password into login fields. Locate OpenVPN GUI by pressing Filename, then look for openvpn-gui.exe which usually can be found in "C:\Program Files (x86)\OpenVPN\bin".












3. Now we want to find an OpenVPN config file with file extension .ovpn. To do this press Config file. Config files for OpenVPN are usually located in "C:\Program Files (x86)\OpenVPN\config".












4. Press Add file to add a program, and press the Autorun box.

5. Close config window and press Cycle IP:Task.

Quick start Wireguard

Here's how to setup Wireguard VPN detection. Tunsafe Wireguard Client is highly recommended to use with VPNCheck Pro.
VPN must be connected when you configure the Wireguard detection

1. Connect to VPN then Press Config then Detection mode.

2. Select Wireguard/Router as detection method.

3. Enter any random website URL into the Ping URL field.

4. Press the Verify IP button which should fetch the essential IPs to detect if VPN crashes while using Wireguard.
When you connect to a new Wireguard server it is necessary to press the Verify IP again.

5. Press Cycle IP: Task in the Main window.

Help

Reset DNS manually: Provides details on how to reset your DNS server address manually.


Options

Default

Reverse IP: Reverse the VPN detection algorithm. To be used if VPN detection doesn't work properly.

Protect linkage: This is to help against VPN crash due to timeout from VPN provider. (Usually only necessary for free VPN providers)

Minimize on close: Minimize to notification area instead of closing VPNCheck when pressing close.

Local IP verify: Assistance to detect if local IP change for those using routers with VPN pass through.

Notify window: If VPN is offline a window at bottom-right corner pops up.

Detect programs: Test if VPNCheck detects the selected programs.

Close openvpn-gui: Once connected to OpenVPN it will close openvpn-gui.

Check for updates: Check if new version is released automatically.

Check VPN every x second: This is the time which VPNCheck looks for changes in VPN connection. If you want to use below one second then add a decimal for example 0.1.


Autostart

Cycle IP:Task: Automatically starts login and monitoring of VPN at startup of VPNCheck. Closes and opens programs.

Cycle IP:Network: Shuts down the network when VPN crash.


Windows startup

Launch/Minimize: Launch and Minimize VPNCheck Pro at windows startup.

 

Login info

PPTP/L2TP/IPSec

Username: VPN username.

Password: VPN password.

VPN network adapter: VPN network adapter name which was chosen during VPN setup.


OpenVPN

Filename: Select exe file of the OpenVPN GUI, usually named openvpn-gui.exe.

Config file: Select .ovpn file.


Custom VPN program

Use another VPN program to connect to VPN instead of VPNCheck Pro.

 

Applications

Close: Close selected app when VPN crash.

Autorun: Automatically run selected app when VPN connection is established.

Add file: Select a program.

Remove: Remove selected program from list.

 

Computer ID

Creating a new ID requires restart of Windows

Hostname: Name which appears to the internet or any kind of network you're connected to.

Computer name: Name of your computer which also appears to the network.

MAC address: Unique signature of your network hardware device.


Config

Reminder: Choose between 0 and 30 days to be reminded of when to Change ID.

New ID at startup: Create a new Hostname, Computer name and MAC address automatically at startup.

Auto-create ID: Automatically creates new Hostname, Computer name and MAC address once Reminder time is reached.

Create new ID: Create a new Hostname, Computer name and MAC address.

Reset ID: Reset Computer ID to the original Computer ID saved from the first time you started VPNCheck Pro.

 

DNS leak fix

Preferred DNS server: The main DNS server address.

Alternative DNS server: Secondary DNS server address can be used for backup.

Reset DNS Network: Resets DNS if your network becomes inaccessible.


Verify connection stability

Primary website : Pings the website address to make sure the DNS leak fix is working properly, any web address can be used.

Secondary website : Used as a backup in case the primary website address is unreachable.

 

Detection mode

Choose between two different VPN detection methods

Local IP (default): Detect if VPN crash by looking for changes Locally.

Router: Pings a website address each minutes to determine if the VPN in router crashed.

Ping IP address: Enter a website address or IP to be pinged, any website or IP will work except for the Local IP and the Router IP.
